Born in 1976 in Quzhou, Zhejiang, China, and trained as a dancer, Zhou Xun (周迅) began her acting career in the mid-1990s. Since then, she has appeared in several television drama series, as well as a number of high-profile Asian films.
Several of her recent movie performances have earned Zhou Xun acting kudos, including awards from the 2009 Asian Film Awards, Shanghai Film Critics Association Awards, and the 9th Chinese Film Media Awards (for The Equation of Love and Death), 26th Hong Kong Film Awards and 12th Golden Bauhinia Awards (for The Banquet), 12th Hong Kong Film Critics Society, 11th Golden Bauhinia Awards, 43rd Golden Horse Film Festival and 25th Hong Kong film Awards (for Perhaps Love).
Zhou Xun also pursues a singing careeer, contributing theme songs for some of her films and TV drama series; she has also released two popular music CDs. |
